Steady Inshore Bite with Redfish, Trout, and Drum Heating Up Across the Bay
Apalachicola Bay - Franklin, FL
Captain Tommy Holland reports steady inshore action across Apalachicola Bay this week. Redfish are active around oyster bars and grass flats, especially during moving tides. Anglers have been finding good numbers of speckled trout in deeper drop-offs and along channel edges using soft plastics and live shrimp. Black drum and sheepshead are showing up near structure, while flounder catches remain consistent on sandy bottoms.
The bay continues to offer variety, with jack crevalle and ladyfish adding bonus action, and tarpon starting to appear with warming conditions. Trips aboard Captain Tommy’s Frontier bay boat have been productive for anglers of all skill levels, with plenty of opportunities to bring home fillets for the cooler.
